Manual what drainage, Cindy?
I get it, the lymphatic system isn’t really a household name kind of organ like the heart or the central nervous system. It’s a funny sounding name that seems kind of made up. Interestingly enough, this vital part of your body is not made up at all and helps your body to stay healthy. What is the Lymphatic System? The lymphatic system is a very fundamental and necessary part of our body. A network of vessels that runs through our body composes what we call the lymphatic system. This network transports lymph- a clear fluid throughout the body. Lymph carries white blood cells to fight infection throughout our bodies. By draining lymph the lymphatic system helps to get rid of harmful toxins and waste that can be found in our bodies. My manual lymphatic drainage massage helps to promote the lymphatic system and this process of detoxing the body. What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage? Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a part of my Certified Advanced Therapy massage technique that I specialize in. MLD is a detox massage which helps in stimulating the lymphatic system. Gentle massaging strokes performed during the massage promote the stimulation of the lymphatic system to drain toxins and waste. The lymphatic system is encouraged through this specific type of massage to eliminate waste, bacteria and excess fluids. If you are looking for back pain relief or a lymphatic massage, book your appointment with me today at the downtown Fredericksburg office!
